About the Pub
Situated in the centre of Brunel’s Railway Village and a short walk from Swindon station and the town centre, the Gluepot’s corner shop appearance belies the drinking treasures to be found within. The pub gets its name from the railway coachbuilders who would bring their gluepots with them when they took their breaks and would place their pots on the central stove to keep them hot; unfortunately, health and safety has put paid to the stove.
Inside seating is provided in the form of wooden settles with scrubbed-wood tables and outside there is a small sunny, south-facing patio with picnic tables and umbrellas. Of course, your preference may be to lean and chat at the bar, either with friends, locals, or with those who have come from further afield, specifically for the 8 ales on hand-pumps and the 5 draught ciders that are always available.
The Gluepot is unashamedly a real old-fashioned pub with old-fashioned values . Why not call in and see us for a warm welcome and a cracking pint.
